About this Position

  • Engineering Manager-Construction who focuses on GCN project construction management activities in Henkel site to lead people to execute all the projects according to their scope, schedule, cost, quality etc. and achieve high performance & satisfaction of stakeholders.

What you´ll do

  • Lead the overall construction management of chemical plant industrial projects, deliver the works in line with project scope, schedule, budget, quality, SHE and technical specifications.
  • Lead the contractors to develop master construction schedule, manpower & equipment resource plan, work sequence logic; track milestone progress, analysis delays and implement recovery measures.
  • Manage main contractors, subcontractors, equipment vendors, and site supervision & management team to execute the project. 
  • Implement construction cost control: monitor actual expenditure vs baseline budget, review change orders, validate extra work and prevent cost overrun.
  • Supervise site construction quality, witness key inspection & test activities, resolve constructability, piping, civil and equipment erection technical issues between design and field.
  • Execute project SHE management plan with support of SHE engineers who come from supervision and project management company. Enforce strict HSE management to ensure compliance with local codes, fire & explosion-proof regulations, factory permits and corporate safety standards; organize risk assessment, hazard identification and control, safety training, toolbox talks and incident investigation etc. SHE activities.
  • Control project technical documents: construction drawings, RFIs, material submittals, inspection records, daily site reports, meeting minutes, as-built drawings and handover dossiers.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, engineering consultants and local government and other stakeholders; submit periodic project status report, risk register and milestone forecast.
  • Identify, evaluate and mitigate construction risks including schedule, safety, technical, commercial and interface risks among multiple disciplines.
  • Oversee pre-commissioning support, punch list clearance, final acceptance, mechanical completion and formal handover to operation team, coordinate warranty matters.
  • Other assigned tasks.

What makes you a good fit

  • Mayor in chemical process, electrical or mechanical area, or others industrial engineering related area, bachelor’s degree or above.
  • Having at least 8 years’ working experience related to chemical MEP construction/installation management experience, skilled in site execution, schedule, quality & cost control, subcontractor and SHE management.
  • Be familiar with construction safety and contractor management methodology and project management skills.
  • Good stakeholder engagement and communication skill and on-stie risk-handling capability.
  • Be familiar with SHE regulations and procedures of foreign chemical companies. 
  • Responsibility, highly working activity, better communication & coordination skills. Highly self-control ability.
  • Fluent in English and be familiar with Microsoft office, MS project, outlook, AUTOCAD etc. software. 
  • Be willing to travel in China or APAC for a long term.
