About this Position

The Master Scheduler/Senior Production Planner is responsible for utilizing established production planning practices to manage all aspects associated with production schedules for the manufacturing plant and/or outside co-packer facilities as assigned.  This role leads the plant level production planning/ scheduling process to ensure the proper flow of work and materials in the plant and monitor performance to drive improvements. 

What you´ll do

  • The management and creation of production schedules. The primary objective is to maximize production output and efficiencies without compromising customer service.   
  • Knowledge of production process and constraints - Must stay up to date on blending, molding, filling capacity and line utilization. This requires daily interaction and occasional meetings with Plant and Production personnel.
  • Schedules must be updated in production planning software daily to meet established guidelines.
  • Maintain, firm, and create schedules per current protocol, for areas assigned, while monitoring plant efficiencies and customer service coverage.
  • Interfaces with Raw Material Planning personnel to address packaging verification shortage issues and adjusts schedules accordingly.  
  • Product knowledge – Must have thorough knowledge of product sizes, formulas, and unique components, etc.
  • Actively participates in all new product launches and conversion. This requires close interaction with PLM and R&D personnel. 
  • If applicable, interacts with outside co-packer contacts to create production schedules.
  • Must have a general understanding of our customers – priority status, lead times, promotional requirements, and order tendencies.
  • Communicates with Corporate Production and Material Planning personnel regarding any production delays or significant changes to customer service levels or material availability.
  • The analysis of production capacity, schedule adherence and utilization. This information is to be updated on a monthly or as needed basis depending on the production area and will incorporate projected growth and declines in business.
  • This information will be used to determine ABC production run cycle strategies and equipment needs.   

What makes you a good fit

  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferable in a manufacturing/business field) or have equivalent experience in supply chain role such as: material planning, warehousing, or manufacturing.
  • Experience of five years or more required in manufacturing, planning, or scheduling process
  • Must have previous SAP experience.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • APICS or equivalent certification is advantageous.
