About this Position
This internship position will help build a system that blends machine learning (ML), physics‑based modeling and packaging science to predict packaging behavior during compatibility tests. This role is perfect for students excited about the intersection of data science, engineering and real‑world product performance.
What you´ll do
- Collect, organize and sort historical packaging test data from multiple sources
- Analyze and structure results
- Develop and evaluate ML models - Random Forest, XGBoost, to predict storage test outcomes
- Contribute to hybrid AI models by integrating physics‑based equations with ML techniques
What makes you a good fit
- Student who is pursuing a bachelor or master degree in the field of packaging, mechanical or plastic engineering
- Practical or international experience, e.g. by former internships or semester abroad, is beneficial
- Fluent English language skills, German and other languages are advantageous
- Firm knowledge of MS-Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint, basic experience on packaging specification and data analysis and visualization
- Basic machine learning understanding
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Self-motivated, creative and open-minded team-player with high level of independence

We offer you an attractive salary between €1.050-2.270 gross per month. The exact amount of the remuneration depends on the desired duration, the type of internship (voluntary or mandatory) and existing degrees.
